The project

Overview & challenge.

Overview

D&M Tilt ’n Load has moved heavy equipment, construction materials and oversized loads across Ottawa–Gatineau since 2001. Many of its customers are contractors who need a truck quickly.

The challenge

In transport and towing, the website's job is to get the phone ringing. Every extra scroll or unclear button is a lost job to a competitor — especially on a phone at a job site.

Strategy

How I approached it.

  1. 01

Put the phone number in the top bar, the header button and the hero.

  2. 02

Show Google reviews right next to the main call to action.

  3. 03

Summarise Services, Get a Quote and Contact in a three-column strip below the hero.

  4. 04

List the reasons to choose D&M plainly: local since 2001, construction specialists, 24/7 emergency response, licensed and insured.

  5. 05

Build a page for each transport service and a section for each service area to support local search.

UX / Structure

The page, section by section.

  1. 1Top bar
  2. 2header with call button
  3. 3hero with reviews and CTA
  4. 4quick links
  5. 5about
  6. 6services
  7. 7why choose us
  8. 8service areas (Downtown Ottawa, Kanata, Nepean, Orleans, Gloucester, Hull, Aylmer)
  9. 9emergency call to action.

Design & build

How it looks and works.

Visual design

Bold headings, real fleet photography and a strong red reserved for action areas, so the eye always lands on the phone number.

Development · WordPress · Elementor

Built in WordPress with Elementor, with separate service pages (heavy equipment, construction materials, oversized loads, forklift, skid steer, excavator, crane and boom transport) and tap-to-call on mobile.
