The project

Overview & challenge.

Overview

Burlington Food Hall brings several independent vendors — including The Burger Depot, Company Shops Bar, Miso, Kapadokia, Don Cabe and Sweet Spot — together under one roof in downtown Burlington, with events, live music and a commissary kitchen for food entrepreneurs.

The challenge

A food hall has several audiences at once: hungry visitors deciding where to eat, people looking for something to do on Friday night, and food businesses looking for kitchen space. Each vendor also needs its own spotlight.

Strategy

How I approached it.

  1. 01

Lead with the feeling, not the facility: “Good Food. Great People. One Place.”

  2. 02

Give every vendor a card with its own menu link, so the hall reads as a collection of destinations.

  3. 03

Promote events (like Live Music Friday Night) as a reason to visit again.

  4. 04

Give the commissary kitchen its own section for the business audience.

  5. 05

Finish with practical visit information and directions.

UX / Structure

The page, section by section.

  1. 1Hero with “Explore our vendors” and “Plan your visit”
  2. 2vendor grid with menus
  3. 3events
  4. 4commissary kitchen
  5. 5visit and directions. Each vendor has its own page in the navigation.

Design & build

How it looks and works.

Visual design

Deep green and warm cream with an editorial serif headline and a script accent, paired with big, appetising food photography.

Development · WordPress · Elementor

Built in WordPress with Elementor, with an events calendar and individual vendor pages the team can update.
